Our Story

Moville and District Family Resource Centre supports families and individuals in the Inishowen peninsula of County Donegal. The centre helps people maintain a healthy lifestyle by promoting good physical and mental health. The Resource Centre was set up in 2004 to support the local community.

Family Resource Centres are located within a community-based model of family support, and this model is at the heart of what we aim to do. Since its inception, we have evolved to include more services and groups. The Moville Family Resource Centre is located in the Market Square of Moville because we place priority on having a user-friendly and accessible premise for all of the community.

A defining characteristic of Family Resource Centres is that they are managed by local voluntary management committees, which are critical in ensuring local knowledge and accountability in their community. All Family Resource Centres have an open-door policy. The Moville Family Resource Centre involves local people in identifying the needs of our community and developing programmes in response to these needs.

Family Resource Centres are participative and empowering organisations that support families while building the capacity and leadership of local communities. We offer a full programme of universal and targeted services to support families locally here in Moville. Check out our various services and groups to see how you can get involved and benefit from what we offer.

“I take this opportunity to congratulate you and your young team of youth who very successfully delivered the catering/waitering service at our Banquet on Friday 16th August 2019 at the Sliabh Sneacht Centre Drumfries Buncrana . The dedication, mannerism and professional approach by your young youth team was quite remarkable. They are a real credit to you, their families, their project and more importantly to themselves. I was immensely proud of them. thanks to them (and you) for making a good night …wonderful!”

“I truly believe I wouldn’t have had the courage to embrace the opportunities that have come my way if it wasn’t for the projects I have been (so lucky) to be a part of through Moville Family Resource Centre”
